Premium Polish vodka brand Siwucha is set to receive the highest accolade of the wine and spirit industry at a Gala Dinner taking place in London on 19 September 2002. Judges of the recent International Spirits Challenge were so impressed with the vodka that they reversed their initial Gold Medal decision, and awarded Siwucha The Trophy, the most prestigious award available. The brand beat it's nearest rival by ten clear points.

" We're told that it is the first time in the history of these awards that any vodka has been awarded The Trophy," said David Steward, Sales and Marketing Director of Marblehead Brand Development. "The Trophy is a welcomed endorsement of the brand's quality and style."

The characteristics of Siwucha, a rye vodka, are seductive and smooth. The 500 ml bottle, with it's cork and wax closure is typical of those used before modern production techniques were introduced in Poland and is becoming increasingly popular with top restaurants throughout the UK.

"We blind-tasted forty-one plain vodkas," adds Ian Wishniewski, Head Judge of the Awards. "Siwucha stood head and shoulders above the rest because it has a bigger, rounder flavour than people expect from a vodka."

With a strength of 40%, Siwucha is a special white vodka distilled according to old Polish traditions.
It corresponds to one of the very first vodkas produced in Zielona Gora.
Siwucha was developed by Elzbieta Goldynka of the Polmos distillery.
The simple label offers merely the Siwucha name and the name and address of the original distillery in Zielona Gora.
Since it' launch in Poland four years ago, Siwucha has been a huge success and has won two previous awards in Europe.
